    Weavers of Morocco
    Artist of the loom
    Material: Wool, cotton, rayon

Weaving is a traditional craft in Morocco and the looms have been around for centuries. Untill today, the craft is still widely practiced and local materials are being handwoven into beautiful blankets and pillows. Each artisan has its own specialty of design, using two up to six peddals and resulting in a variety of patterns.

Threads are spun onto the traditional wooden looms before the artisans starts to weave the design by hand. With the feet they control the pattern while the hands quickly slide the wool across the loom. The weavers often work from their home or small workshop, the craft has been passed down from generation to generation.
